Hynek KrausWith Shopify since 2021I lived through Black Friday with real cash flow on the line, negotiations with Chinese suppliers and Meta ads that died in the middle of the Christmas run-up – before I sold the brand in 2024. That’s exactly why I know what decides whether a store earns money or merely looks good.
None of this is filler. You notice every one of these in the result.
More about how I workNo WooCommerce, no WordPress, no list of five platforms I am “also” good at. Years in one platform – long enough that it has no blind spots left for me.
Not three suppliers blaming each other when something breaks. Design, development and the marketing foundation come from the same desk – one project, one timeline, one person answerable for it.
For most studios design is what happens after the build. For me it’s part of the foundation – which is why your store ends up looking like a brand rather than a theme.
I built a Shopify brand, ran it for three years and sold it. What that taught me about margins, ads and what actually makes people buy goes into your store from day one, instead of costing you the same three years.
No mockups. Live stores you can open right now.

A German brand trading since 1911. Custom sections and pages, pixel for pixel from Figma.

A brand its customers swear by – 130,000+ of them. From the flagship product page to every PDP, the cart and cross-sell.

Two brands, one owner. Both stores built from zero – design, build and automation.

Every project differs, but three situations come up again and again. Find yours.
You have a product and a vision – what is missing is the brand, the store and the first customers. I build all of it in one process: visual identity, the Shopify store, and the campaigns that bring the first orders.
Talk about starting from zeroOrders come in and growth has stalled. I find where you’re losing customers and rebuild the store gradually, while it stays open – no drop in revenue, no restart from scratch.
I want a conversion auditWooCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopware or Magento holding you back – limits on expansion, on features, on speed, or an upkeep bill that keeps growing. I migrate you to Shopify without losing SEO, data or sales.
Would migrating pay off?None of these quite fit? See all services
I can take on the whole store – or start with whatever is hurting most.
The complete build – strategy, design, development, launch. From smaller stores to genuinely complex custom work. From the first wireframe to the first order.
New sections in custom Liquid, a redesign with the store still running, and features built for you – bundles, upsell, B2B.
From WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopware or Magento – data, 301 redirects and the rankings you already have.
Funnel audit, A/B tests, product pages and the path into checkout. Measured, not guessed.
Orders, shipping, invoicing and support without manual work – the routine handled by workflows and AI where it earns its place.
Meta and Google Ads, email flows and content – run against real margin, tested with my own money first.
Logo, brand system, art direction, typography. An identity customers remember.
No platform is “best” for everyone. Below, it’s up against WooCommerce, the most common alternative. PrestaShop, Shopware and BigCommerce are in the full comparison.

Shopify isn’t the platform you move to once you have outgrown something else. For most brands it’s the better choice from the first product – quicker to launch, less to maintain, and ready to sell across Europe the moment you are.
Roughly: a simpler store lands in the low thousands of euros, a complex custom build in the low tens of thousands. I won’t pretend to be precise before I know what I’m building – send me a few sentences about what you sell and you’ll have a written estimate within 24 hours. Free, no call, no strings.
One person, and I would rather say so upfront. You talk to the developer who writes the code, so nothing gets lost between an account manager and a contractor. For larger brand and marketing work I bring in specialists I’ve worked with for years, and I tell you when that happens.
I work from Central Europe, which puts me in CET – the same working day as most of Europe and a morning overlap with the US East Coast. Everything runs remotely and in writing, so you keep a record of every decision. Invoicing is B2B and cross-border; see the terms for the details.
Yes, and it’s the part most builds get wrong. Multiple currencies and languages through Shopify Markets, VAT and the OSS scheme, local carriers and local payment methods that people actually trust – iDEAL in the Netherlands, Klarna in the Nordics, BLIK in Poland. A store that only works in one country is easy; one that survives a border is the real job.
That’s a large part of what I do – WooCommerce, PrestaShop, Shopware, Magento. The part that decides whether a migration succeeds isn’t the product data, it’s the URL mapping and the redirects. Done properly, rankings hold. Done as an afterthought, you lose traffic you spent years earning.
A focused store build is usually six to ten weeks from kickoff to launch; a migration depends far more on how your current platform lets data out than on the build itself. You get a schedule with milestones in the offer, not a vague promise.
Shopify itself starts at €32 a month on Basic, or €24 if you pay annually. On top of that come the apps a European store needs – carriers and parcel lockers, marketplace feeds, invoicing – which land in the tens of euros. Realistically, budget €60–250 a month depending on the mix. Card processing is separate: from 2% + €0.25 through Shopify Payments, lower on the higher plans.
The full cost breakdownOnly Shopify, and that’s deliberate. Years in one platform mean I know where its limits actually are instead of guessing – and that I can tell you when it’s the wrong choice. If your business runs on WordPress content, or you need the kind of control only a self-hosted platform gives you, I’ll say so rather than sell you a migration.
How Shopify comparesA few lines about your project is enough. I’ll tell you straight what makes sense, what doesn’t and how I would approach it. No commitment, no pressure.
